Create an account
To create a Race Ultra account, simply open the app to the login screen and tap on "new user". This will take you to the New User page where you enter your Username as your email address, First and Last names then create a password.
The Password must have a minimum of 8 characters, upper and lower case, at least 1 number and a special symbol. Both Password and Confirm Passwords must match before you continue. You will be emailed a registration code to the email provided that is then entered into the app when prompted. After you've entered the correct code, the app will take to the Profile page so you can setup your profile. Now you're ready to use the app!
Login/ logout
"To log into the Race Ultra app, you will need to register a Username and password. If you haven't already done that please see "Create an account" how to for instruction. If you have a Username and Password, simply open the app to the login page, enter your Username and Password, tap on "Log In" and you'll be automatically taken to the Main Page. To Log out of the Race Ultra all, open the Profile page, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap on "Log out". This will take you back to the Login page."
Recover Password
To recover your password, simply open the app to the login screen and tap on "Forgot Password". This will take you to the Password Recovery page where you enter your Username as your email address, then tap "Request Code".
A recovery code will be sent to your registered email address. Enter the code in the field "Confirmation Code", if you enter the correct code the password fields will be unlocked for you to enter and confirm a new password.
Finally, tap "Reset Password" and you will be automatically taken back to the main login page. The Username and Password should be already complete, and you should now be able to Login.
Purchase subscription
To purchase a subscription with Race Ultra, open the Profile page and scroll down and tap on "Purchase a Subscription".
This will open a popup page explaining the subscription benefits and options, i.e. monthly or yearly with pricing. Simply tap on your preferred subscription interval and the payment prompt will load.
All payments are processed and managed through the Google Play or Apple App store. Tap on "Subscribe" and you're done. You now have unlimited access to Race Ultra's awesome features!
Settings page
Access the settings page by taping on the "Cog" icon up in the top right-hand corner of the screen. The setting page lets you customise the Units of measure between Metric and Imperial.
Further customization of units of Speed and Distance are also changeable to suit the type of activity you are participating in. Date and Time formats are also changeable here. There is an option to to switch on/off Hidden Events. If you choose to hide an event, when you switch this off, those events won't appear in the list on you Home Page. The events won't be deleted, they will appear in your list when you enable Hidden Events again.
Email Notifications can also be disabled here.
Plan a new event
Starting at the Home page, to start planning and create a new event, tap on "Plan a New Event" at the bottom of the screen.
This will take you to the "New Event" page and give you option to plan a new event from scratch or search the Race Ultra database for preloaded events. These events are built from the details on various Race Organisers websites and will have a icon with a 'tick' inside a 'shield'. tap on the down arrows on the right in the search field, select your activity (i.e. running, riding, etc.) and the list will be display.
Scroll through the list, when you find the event you're interested in racing, tap on the event name to load as a template. Once loaded, you'll see all the checkpoints, distances etc. have already been created from the event and the race clock will be counting down your event start time.
You can still customise planned paces, planned stop times etc to suit your own race strategy. If for any reason the event start date or time changes, this field is also changeable on this page. To plan a new event from scratch, simply tap on the "Event Name" field, start by entering your "Event Name", the start date and time, overall cutoff date and time, the event type (i.e. running, riding etc.) and finally event visibility (i.e. public or private).
After all new event details are entered, tap on "Create" down at the bottom of the screen to start the detailed planning. You will be automatically taken to the "Main Event" page. There will be no checkpoints, or event details other then what has just been entered. For details on how to add a checkpoint see the "Add a Checkpoint" how to. If for any reason the event start date or time changes, this field is also changeable on this page.
Add a Checkpoint
After creating a new event from scratch, you'll see a "+ Add New Checkpoint" under "Checkpoints". To add your first Checkpoint, double tap on "+ Add New Checkpoint" and it will open the Checkpoint details page.
Start by given your Checkpoint (CP) a name (e.g. if this is an organised event make it the same as the Race Organisers Website)
Enter the Distance from previous CP (note: if this is the first CP it will be distance from the start line in the distance units set in the settings page)
Enter the Expected Pace to CP (note: pace units are set in the settings page; this is used to calculate the expected arrival time at the next CP)
Enter you Planned Stop Time (e.g. how long do you plan to stay and rest at the CP)
After the above details are enter, the App will automatically calculate the Planned Date/Time that you will arrive at that CP. You can continue to adjust the pace until your desired arrival time is shown or alternatively you can enter the Planned Date/Time and it will back calculate the Expected Pace required to get to that CP at that time.
If the CP has a Cut Off date/time, you can enable the pace calculation by tapping on the circle next to the Cut Off speed. This will allow you to enter the Cut Off date/time for the CP and the App will calculate the minimum required Pace to arrive at that CP and avoid the Cut Off.
Elevation gain and loss detail can also be recorded here although not required.
If there are Facilities at the CP, you can nominate what Facilities are available by tapping on the relevant icon (i.e. Shower, Water, Snacks, etc.) These will also display on the Main Event page.
To add more detailed information on the CP, there are Private, Crew and Course Notes available. tap on "View/Edit" to add notes to any of the note’s fields. If the "View/Edit" is bold, that indicates there is already a note in that field.
After completing all the CP details, tap on the "Disk" icon in the top right-hand corner of the page to save the CP data and you will be taken back to the Main Event page.
Delete a Checkpoint
To delete a Checkpoint (CP), simply double tap the CP on the Main Event page to open it. When it opens to the CP details page, tap on the "Bin" icon in the top left-hand corner of the screen to delete. A popup will appear asking you to confirm you want to delete the CP. tap "Yes" to permanently delete all CP data, or "No" to cancel and keep the CP.
Manage Crew + Chat
Now that you've planned you event it's time to build a crew to support you on your adventure. From the Main Event page, tap on the icon down the bottom of the screen that has "Crew" below it. This will take to the Crew page where you can manage your crew for this event.
To invite someone to your Crew, tap on "Invite someone to the Team" at the bottom of the screen. Enter their email address in the pop-up, select what type of crew member they will be (i.e. Crew Chief, Crew Member or Observer) and tap on "Sent it!" A confirmation popup will appear asking you to confirm you want to invite that User to you Crew, tap on Yes to confirm or No to cancel.
If the email entered is not already a Race Ultra user, they will be sent an invitation to join Race Ultra. As a Crew member they do not need to be registered user to have access to your event. After they download the app and login, the invitation to crew your event will be waiting.
Anyone in your Crew can remove themselves from the crew at any time by tapping on their assignment next to their name (e.g. Crew, Observer) and changing it to "Exit Crew". The event Owner/Athlete and the Crew Chief can also remove members from the crew the same way.
You can communicate privately with your Crew through the build in "Chat" page. Tap on the Icon with Chat below it to open the Chat page. Only people in your Crew can contribute or see this chat page.
If you're not using the App for any reason and you have missed some crew chat, you'll be sent an email notification (if enabled)
Manage Gear
Your gear is managed in the dedicated Gear page that can be opened by tapping on the "Backpack" icon. When you first open the gear page, you'll see all the Checkpoints (CP) listed with "+ Add new gear" under each CP Name. To add gear to a CP, simply tap on the "+ Add new gear" under the CP Name. This brings up the gear type selecting popup (i.e. Nutrition, Clothing or Survival).
Scroll to the Gear type you're wanting to add and tap on done. That will open a new list of gear depending on what type was selected. Scroll through the list and find the gear you want to add and tap on done. The gear will now appear in the gear list for that CP. The gear will be added automatically as "recommended", you can change this to Mandatory, Optional or Drop Box Item if you plan to put the gear in a Drop Box at that CP.
When packing your dropbox or the race pack or checking your gear as you exit a CP, you can tick off the gear on the list by tapping on the circle to the left of the gear name. These can be ticked and unticked as many times as you like.
Delete any of the gear from the list by tapping on the "Bin" icon and then Yes in the confirmation Popup.
Delete an account
To delete an account, open the Profile page by tapping on the Profile icon in the top left of the Home page. Scroll to the bottom of the Profile page, tap on “Delete my Account “. A pop-up will appear to confirm you want to delete your account including all information associated with your account. Tap on “Yes, delete my account “ to confirm deletion or “No, keep my account “ to cancel the request.

If you’re planning for an ultramarathon, multiday race or timed event, the Race Ultra App can be your tool to plan how you’re going to cover that ground in the time for your event.
The types of ultramarathon events you might be competing in cover a specified distance or route, and those that last for a predetermined period (with the winner covering the most distance in that time).
Timed events range from 6, 12, and 24 hours to 3, 6, and 10 days (known as Multiday races). Timed events are generally run on a track or a short road course, often one mile (1.6 km) or less.
